Team Tibet was selected to compete in the prestigious Sikkim Governor's Gold Cup 2025, one of the oldest football tournaments in India.
The squad was finalized after rigorous selection, with a training camp held at Hunsur Rabgaylling Tibetan settlement with support from Rabling FC. The team received blessings from H.H. The Sakya Gongma Trichen before departing for Gangtok.
The first match pitted Team Tibet against the Sikkim champions in what was a significant milestone — competing in a mainstream Indian football tournament against established state-level teams.
The campaign reinforced Team Tibet's growing presence in competitive football circuits beyond the Tibetan diaspora community.
